Software Development and Integration in a Computer Supported Cooperative Work Environment
نویسندگان
چکیده
SUMMARY This paper presents a prototype computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) environment that supports the engineering design process. In particular, this environment provides collaborative tools that support computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided software engineering (CASE). This paper takes an high level look at the system as a whole and then focuses on the method used to implement the CASE support. It addresses how group members can simultaneously work on coding a program and then integrate their work to form a single program inside this environment.

Collaborative Processes in Industry: Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Traceability
This article presents the contribution of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) research to the development of collaborative processes within an industrial organization. People usually work in a social context where everyone contributes to the evolution of the whole. A decision emerges from the incremental integration of several mini-decisions. This collaborative process is either formal o...
متن کاملA Testing Methodology and Architecture for Computer Supported Cooperative Work Software
A TESTING METHODOLOGY AND ARCHITECTURE FOR COMPUTER SUPPORTED COOPERATIVE WORK SOFTWARE by Robert Francis Dugan Jr. Despite enormous potential, CSCW software is still immature. In particular, leading researchers in both the CSCW and testing fields have noted CSCW testing tools are nonexistent. This thesis contributes a methodology and architecture for execution based testing of CSCW software. T...
متن کاملAn Object-oriented Infrastructure for a Cooperative Software Development Environment
Group support systems impose specific requirements on the underlying infrastructure regarding communication, configuration and data management. In this paper we concentrate on computer-supported cooperative work in the area of software development. We present the main principles of an experimental toolset for cooperative software development, outline specific demands on the underlying infrastru...
متن کاملKnowledge-Based Code Inspection with ICICLE
ICICLE1 (intelligent code inspection in a C language environment) is a multifaceted software system developed with components from several technologies, including AI, computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), and software technology. It is intended to support the process of formal code inspection within the software development cycle. This chapter reports on ICICLE in the context of its succe...
متن کاملRefactoring the Publishing Process
This paper dicusses how the technical book publishing process could address time to market and eBook issues through the adaptation of collaborative software engineering processes to the entire publishing process, from the initial authoring to the final preflight stages. We identify where, based on our own observations, the current process is flawed, then explore how it can be improved. While so...
